Statesville Police Investigating Death After Person Found Injured Near Museum Road
One person died after being found with traumatic injuries near Museum Road and Millsaps Road in Statesville on Friday evening. Police are speaking with a person of interest and say they are not actively searching for a suspect.
STATESVILLE â One person is dead after being found with traumatic injuries near the intersection of Museum Road and Millsaps Road on Friday evening, according to the Statesville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the area around 7:49 p.m. after receiving a call about suspicious activity. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from traumatic injuries.
Iredell County EMS and the Statesville Fire Department responded and provided lifesaving measures before the victim was transported to an area hospital, where they later died. The victim's identity has not been released.
Investigators are actively working the case and are speaking with a person of interest, police said. Officers are not actively searching for a suspect at this time, according to the department.
No further details about the circumstances of the death or the person of interest were immediately available. Police have not said whether the death is being investigated as a homicide.
