A new Maryland tourism information center opened Tuesday in the Terminal A baggage claim area at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, near Starbucks.
Called The Welcome Center, the space is operated by Visit Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. It is intended to help travelers find attractions and plan visits around Maryland. About 25 million travelers pass through BWI-Marshall each year, according to the center’s organizers.
The center features artwork by Anne Arundel County artists, interactive kiosks available around the clock and destination experience associates who can offer visitors recommendations. Organizers said the mix of technology and personal assistance is meant to serve travelers with different planning preferences and introduce them to destinations across the state.
