Round Rock crash kills 24-year-old woman; driver charged
A 28-year-old man faces an intoxication manslaughter charge after a two-vehicle collision in Round Rock killed 24-year-old Shruti Amin. Police say he ran a red light at South Kenney Fort Boulevard and Gattis School Road.
A 24-year-old woman died after a two-vehicle crash early Sunday, Oct. 4, at the intersection of South Kenney Fort Boulevard and Gattis School Road in Round Rock, police said.
Christopher Lundquist, 28, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the collision. Round Rock police said Lundquist was driving south on South Kenney Fort Boulevard when he allegedly ran a red light and hit a vehicle traveling east on Gattis School Road.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Shruti Amin, died at the scene. The crash was reported at about 6 a.m.
Lundquist was taken to a hospital after the collision and later booked into the Williamson County Jail. No attorney was listed as representing him at the time of the report. The charge is an accusation, and the case will proceed through the courts.
