Two knives found in Tierra Rosa Elementary student’s backpack, district says
A fourth-grade student at Tierra Rosa Elementary in Liberty Hill brought two knives to school Monday, prompting an investigation by Liberty Hill ISD police, the district said. School administrators learned at the end of the day that the student had told other students they had brought knives. The student was taken to the front office, where staff began investigating, and two knives were found in the student’s backpack, according to a message sent to families by principal Shirley Dean Monday night. The district said the student has been kept apart from other students while its police department investigates. Dean said families would receive an update Tuesday after the investigation is complete. In her message, Dean thanked students and families for speaking up about concerning behavior and urged parents to remind children to report safety-related comments or statements to a trusted adult. The district did not provide further details about the investigation.
