Driver killed in collision involving three vehicles on Manor’s U.S. 290

A driver died after an eastbound vehicle struck stopped traffic on U.S. 290 in Manor late Friday, police said. The crash closed eastbound lanes for about three and a half hours.

A driver died late Friday in a three-vehicle crash on East U.S. Highway 290 in Manor, according to police. Officers were called around 10 p.m. to the highway just west of Gregg Manor Road. Manor police said a preliminary investigation found that an eastbound vehicle approached stopped traffic and struck the rear of another vehicle, pushing it into a third vehicle. First responders performed CPR on one of the drivers, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other people involved were not injured, police said. Their identities have not been released. Travis County Emergency Services District No. 12 and Austin-Travis County EMS also responded. Eastbound lanes between Threshold Lane and Gregg Manor Road were closed for about three and a half hours while crews worked at the scene.
