Zilker Botanical Garden closed Thursday, Oct. 1, as Austin Parks and Recreation carries out facility abatement, renovation and maintenance, the department said. The garden is expected to reopen Oct. 16. The department cautioned that the main building could remain closed beyond that date, so visitors should check the city’s facilities-closure page for updates before making a trip.
