Sandy Springs investigation reports four arrests and four people safeguarded
Four people were arrested in a Sandy Springs Police Department human trafficking investigation that included Morgan Falls Overlook Park and the Hammond Drive area, police said Oct. 9. The department said an adult trafficking victim was rescued and three children were placed in protective custody. The investigation focused on people police said were involved in sexual exploitation and related crimes. The department described it as an ongoing operation and said it had no additional details to release. Police identified the arrested people and listed charges as follows: Eric Dejuan Lightfoot was charged with felony trafficking a person for sexual servitude; James Brandon was charged with pimping; Na’Kaya Delzora Jones was charged with prostitution, making false statements and three counts of second-degree cruelty to children; and Tamera La’Shay Brasby was charged with solicitation of a sexual act. The charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Fulton County Jail records cited by police showed Lightfoot and Jones were booked Oct. 9, with an offense date of Oct. 8. The report said jail records were not available for Brandon or Brasby. The police announcement came after a Sandy Springs woman said on social media that she believed she was racially profiled by officers at Morgan Falls Overlook Park on Oct. 7. Police said personnel were at the park as part of the trafficking investigation. The department’s announcement did not address the woman’s allegation directly.
