A motorcyclist died after a crash involving a semitruck on northbound Interstate 5 near Boeing Field in Seattle around 12:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson. Johnson said witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was traveling fast and first hit the back of a truck. The rider then moved into another lane, where the motorcycle was struck by the rear of a semitruck, he said. Three lanes were blocked near milepost 161, north of South Albro Place, the Washington State Department of Transportation said. Traffic continued moving through the area, though drivers faced delays. The lanes reopened before 4 p.m. Authorities did not release the motorcyclist’s identity.
