A woman was killed and a man was critically injured in a stabbing at a Concord home Friday night, police said.
Concord police received a 911 call at about 8:51 p.m. reporting a disturbance between a man and a woman at a residence in the 2300 block of Panoramic Drive. The caller said the man had a knife, according to police.
Officers went to the home and spoke with witnesses. When no one inside responded to officers’ attempts to make contact, they entered and found both people with apparent stab wounds. Officers provided medical aid before fire and ambulance crews arrived.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition, police said.
The Concord Police Department’s Investigations Division is handling the case, and detectives are conducting interviews and other follow-up. Based on preliminary witness information, police said they believe there are no outstanding suspects and no continuing threat to public safety. Investigators have not released further details while the case remains in its early stages.
