Two children safe after San Jose standoff ends in arrest on Meadow Glen Way

A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after barricading himself inside a San Jose home with two juveniles. Police said both children were rescued unharmed after officers negotiated his surrender.

Two juveniles were rescued unharmed and a man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a welfare check led to a standoff at a home on the 1500 block of Meadow Glen Way in San Jose, police said. The San Jose Police Department reported the incident at 9:12 a.m. Officers responding to the welfare check found the adult male barricaded inside the residence with the children, according to police. Officers secured the area and tried to negotiate a peaceful surrender. The standoff ended when the man surrendered and was detained. Police said the juveniles were safe. Authorities have not released the man’s identity or said what charges he may face. The investigation is ongoing.
