Vallejo police investigate two shootings and fatal crash reported minutes apart
Two people died and two others were injured in separate shootings and a two-vehicle crash in Vallejo on Tuesday morning. Police have not said whether the three incidents are connected.
Vallejo police are investigating two shootings and a fatal crash that happened within about 25 minutes of one another Tuesday morning, leaving two people dead and two others injured.
At about 8 a.m., a man was shot near Castlewood Drive and Springs Road on Vallejo’s east side, police said. Emergency crews took him to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition.
At about 8:15 a.m., two vehicles collided in the 1000 block of Sonoma Boulevard in South Vallejo. One driver, a man, died at the scene. The other driver was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Eight minutes later, at about 8:23 a.m., a man was shot in the 200 block of Marin Street, a few blocks from the crash scene. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police have not confirmed any connection between the shootings and crash. They have not released further information about the victims or potential suspects. The department said all three incidents remain under investigation.
The city’s crisis response team, IHART, was canvassing the affected areas with a chaplain and police officers to offer resources and trauma-informed care, the department said.
