A vehicle struck a building in the 2800 block of Francisco Street on Saturday night, rupturing a residential gas line and prompting San Francisco officials to tell nearby residents to shelter in place.

The crash happened between Larkin and Polk streets. Two adults were assessed at the scene for minor injuries and did not need to go to a hospital, officials said.

San Francisco firefighters and other emergency crews responded. Pacific Gas and Electric crews shut off the leak, and structural assessment teams inspected the building for damage. The Fire Department later said the incident was resolved and the area was safe, lifting the shelter-in-place order.

Officials used AlertSF to share updates with residents. The San Francisco Police Department is investigating what caused the collision.
