A 19-year-old Coventry man died after he was stabbed during an altercation at a home on Anthony Street, police said Tuesday.
Officers were called to 12 Anthony St. at about 10:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, for a reported stabbing. They found Nicholas Bennett and performed CPR until emergency medical crews arrived, according to police. Bennett was taken to Kent Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Neighbors said the stabbing happened during a backyard party. Police have not released details about what led to the altercation or identified any suspects.
Coventry police, the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office and the state medical examiner are investigating. Police said they had no additional information to release.
