A man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being stabbed four times in the back Monday night on Knight Street in Providence, police said.
Providence police responded to 299 Knight St. at about 7:17 p.m. on Oct. 26 after receiving a report of a stabbing. The injured man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Police said a 31-year-old man was taken into custody at the Central Station parking lot. The department did not provide further details about the circumstances of the stabbing or any potential charges in the information available Tuesday morning.
