Officers responding to the scene found both people wounded and arranged for them to be taken to a nearby hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.

The suspect had left before police arrived, investigators said. Police described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there was no threat to the public.

Detectives were gathering evidence, and 27th Avenue remained closed during the investigation. Police asked residents and drivers to avoid the area.
