Drone subsidiary explores Mesa site for manufacturing expansion

Drone as a Service, a subsidiary of Canadian technology company ZenaTech Inc., is searching for a Mesa location for a manufacturing facility as it expands its presence in the East Valley.

The company is seeking more than 20,000 square feet of space for work that would support trailer manufacturing and defense-related drone projects. It has already opened an office in Mesa, but has not chosen a site for the proposed plant.

Franklin, a company representative, said the company had viewed “quite a few locations” in Mesa.

The facility is expected to employ 45 people initially, with the potential to add hundreds of jobs as production grows, according to the company. No timeline for selecting a site or opening the plant was provided.
