A century-old office building at Second Avenue and Monroe Street is set to become a hotel after hospitality developer Aperture Hotels bought the Ellis Building for $10.3 million. The six-story property was sold by Equus Development Corp. The sale closed Oct. 6, according to real estate database Vizzda. The purchase puts the Ellis Building on a new path from office use to hospitality in downtown Phoenix. No hotel name, opening date or additional project details were provided.
