Eagles rule Jalen Hurts out against Panthers after calf clot diagnosis
Philadelphia will be without its starting quarterback Sunday after diagnosing Jalen Hurts with a superficial blood clot in his calf. The team has not given a timetable for his return, saying his health and safety come first.
The Philadelphia Eagles will play Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has been diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in his calf, the team announced Thursday.
The Eagles have not set a timetable for Hurts’ return. In a statement, the team said his health and safety are its highest priority.
Hurts first sustained the injury during Philadelphia’s Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams. He played the following week against the Jacksonville Jaguars before the team announced he would miss the Panthers matchup.
His absence leaves the Eagles without their starting quarterback for Sunday’s game. The team did not announce who would start in his place.
