Two women died Monday after being found with gunshot wounds inside a home in Philadelphia’s Cedarbrook section, where firefighters had been called to a kitchen fire, officials said. Crews responded around 4 a.m. to a home on the 8200 block of Williams Avenue. They found a kitchen fire and several people inside. The two women were taken to Einstein Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Officials said both appeared to have been shot in the head. Their identities have not been released. About an hour after the fire response, police went to Fox Chase, where an armed man had barricaded himself on a SEPTA bus after refusing to get off. Police are investigating whether he may be connected to the killings; officials have not confirmed a link between the two scenes.
