Thunder Acquire Nique Clifford from Kings for Two Second-Round Picks

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to acquire guard Nique Clifford from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for two second-round draft picks, according to a report Sunday from ESPN's Shams Charania.

Clifford, 24, is a 6-foot-5 guard who was selected by Sacramento with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. In limited action this season, he has averaged 1.6 points, 1.0 assist and 0.9 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game, shooting 35.3% from the field and 12.5% from 3-point range.

The deal continues Oklahoma City's approach of stockpiling young, cost-controlled talent and future draft assets. The Thunder have built one of the league's deepest rosters through a series of trades and draft-night moves, and adding Clifford gives the team another developmental wing to evaluate within its system.

For Sacramento, the trade clears a roster spot and adds two future second-round selections, providing flexibility for a franchise that has struggled to find consistent rotation minutes for its recent draft picks. Clifford appeared in a reserve role for the Kings this season but saw sparse playing time behind the team's established backcourt.

The trade cannot become official until the league reviews the terms and all players involved pass physicals. Terms of the picks, including any protections, were not immediately disclosed.

Oklahoma City has yet to comment publicly on the reported agreement. The Thunder are expected to formally announce the move once the trade is processed.
