Cason Wallace leaves Thunder-Clippers game with left shoulder injury

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace left Sunday’s home game against the Los Angeles Clippers during the first quarter with a left shoulder injury and went to the locker room for further evaluation.

The injury occurred with 6:22 remaining in the quarter, after Wallace drew an offensive foul on Isaiah Jackson, who was setting a screen. Wallace’s shoulder appeared to shift out of place, though no diagnosis or further update was provided.

The Thunder led 14-12 when Wallace departed. The 22-year-old had recorded four points, three rebounds and two steals in five minutes.

Wallace has started every game so far this season and serves as Oklahoma City’s primary point-of-attack defender. His departure could affect the team’s perimeter defense, depending on the severity of the injury and how long he is unavailable.

On Oct. 18, Wallace agreed to a five-year, $139 million rookie-scale contract extension with the Thunder.
