Oklahoma City police arrest two brothers after armed disturbance in NW 20th Street home

Two brothers were taken into custody Saturday evening following an armed domestic disturbance at a home in northwest Oklahoma City, police said.

Officers responded to the 2800 block of NW 20th Street after a dispute between the two men escalated, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department. One of the brothers was described as heavily intoxicated and reportedly in possession of a firearm.

When officers arrived, they were uncertain whether the armed man was inside the residence or in the backyard, and whether he posed a threat to himself or others. A large police presence was deployed to the scene, including K-9 units and drones. Fire personnel also stood by as a precaution.

Police said the two individuals inside the home were initially uncooperative but eventually exited and were taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported.

The incident highlights the heightened risks officers face when responding to domestic disturbances involving firearms and intoxication. Authorities have not released the names of the individuals or details about potential charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
