Enid schools cooperate in tuberculosis exposure investigation after student tests positive

Garfield County health officials said this week that a student at Enid Public Schools tested positive for tuberculosis, prompting an effort to identify people who may have been exposed.

The school district is cooperating with the investigation. Nearly 800 students and staff were contacted Monday, Oct. 19, according to local reports.

The student has been isolated to prevent the airborne spread of the bacterial disease. Officials have not identified the student or specified which school was involved.
