Thermal camera helped Murfreesboro crews locate man upstairs during Kinsale Avenue fire
Firefighters rescued a man, a dog and a cat from a burning home in Murfreesboro on Oct. 15. The man was taken to a hospital for further evaluation, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Murfreesboro firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to locate a man trapped on the second floor of a burning home on Kinsale Avenue on the evening of Oct. 15, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department said.
Crews arrived around 7:40 p.m. and found heavy fire outside the home. Thick smoke limited visibility as firefighters searched inside and found the man upstairs. They also rescued a dog and a cat.
The man was evaluated at the scene before being taken to a hospital for further examination. No other injuries were reported, the department said.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze. The department’s fire marshal’s office is investigating its cause.
