Tennessee invites residents to weigh in on management of 12 state parks
The state plans in-person meetings near 12 parks as it develops strategic management plans focused on conservation, visitor experience, facilities and operations. Residents unable to attend can submit written comments online through Dec. 31.
Tennessee residents will have a chance to weigh in on the future management of 12 state parks through a series of public meetings planned by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and Tennessee State Parks.
The in-person sessions will be held at or near the parks. The agencies said the meetings will give community members an opportunity to learn about the plans from staff and share feedback. The plans are intended to guide how each park serves visitors.
The strategic plans cover four areas: resource stewardship, visitor experience, facilities and amenities, and operational excellence. The individual park plans are available through the Tennessee Bureau of Conservation, Planning and Publication webpage.
People who cannot attend a meeting can submit written comments using the state’s online form through Dec. 31, 2026. Public input can help shape decisions affecting park resources, amenities and the experience of visitors and surrounding communities.
