TailGate Brewery to make Madison campus its main production hub
TailGate Brewery plans to move into Yazoo Brewing Company’s former brewery and taproom in Madison later this year, turning the 6.5-acre Cumberland River property into TailGate’s primary production facility while continuing to make Yazoo beers. The campus includes a 40-barrel brewhouse and a patio. Linus and Lila Hall bought the property in 2017, and it opened as Yazoo’s Madison location in 2019. TailGate said it will work with Yazoo founder Linus Hall on the transition and offered every Yazoo team member an opportunity to join TailGate. Yazoo’s beer brands became part of the R.S. Lipman Brewing portfolio in 2025. TailGate founder and owner Wesley Keegan said the company intends to preserve Yazoo’s place in Tennessee’s craft beer community as it takes over operations at the site. Hall said he and Lila are ready for a new chapter and are pleased Yazoo beer will continue to be brewed by people who have worked with the brand for years. He also said he looks forward to working with TailGate to make the brewery a stronger workplace and gathering place for Nashvillians. TailGate already operates locations in Middle Tennessee and elsewhere in the state, including Bellevue, East Nashville, Germantown, Hendersonville and Murfreesboro, as well as Chattanooga and Nashville International Airport. The Madison site will add a production base and taproom in a riverfront setting north of downtown Nashville.
