19 taken to hospitals after medical emergency at Wilson County Walmart warehouse
Nineteen people were taken to hospitals after a medical emergency at a Walmart distribution center in Wilson County on Sunday, Oct. 11, according to county emergency management officials. Crews initially responded to a report of a woman experiencing symptoms that might be related to food, officials said. Emergency personnel evaluated between 25 and 30 people at the site, but authorities have not disclosed why others needed hospital care or whether the incident was connected to food. Mount Juliet EMS and R.C. EMS provided mutual aid, officials said. No further details about the patients or the facility’s operations were immediately available. A Walmart spokesperson said the company was working with local emergency management and health officials as they investigated, adding that the health and safety of employees was a priority. Officials have not identified a cause, and the initial report of possible food-related illness does not establish that food poisoning was responsible.
