Westosha Central removes assistant coach after student Snapchat contact
Westosha Central High School terminated a 22-year-old assistant football coach after learning he had communicated with a student on Snapchat. Kenosha County investigators said their review found no evidence of a crime, while the district handled the matter under its own policies.
A 22-year-old assistant football coach at Westosha Central High School was terminated after district officials learned he had communicated with a female student on Snapchat, the school district said Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026.
Administrators became aware of the communication at the end of the school day Tuesday, Oct. 6, and acted after reviewing the allegations, according to a district statement. The coach did not hold any other position with the district.
The district said the coach was dismissed for violating district policy and that student safety is its highest priority. It did not publicly detail the messages or identify the student.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said school administrators notified the school resource officer assigned to Westosha Central. A deputy interviewed the student and the coach and reviewed information provided to investigators. The office said it found no evidence of a criminal violation and filed no charges.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that the school’s employment decision was separate from its assessment of whether a crime occurred. The district is addressing the matter internally, the office said.
