Ozaukee County police arrest man after two bank incidents and Grafton crash

A man was arrested Tuesday after two bank incidents in Grafton and Cedarburg were followed by a hit-and-run crash and a brief police chase, authorities said.

Grafton police said a man wearing a ski mask first tried to enter a bank in Grafton. The alarm sounded, and he fled. About two and a half hours later, a man matching the description entered a Cedarburg bank and demanded money, police said. An alarm sounded there, too, and the man ran to a car.

Police said the car was later involved in a hit-and-run crash in Grafton. Officers arrested the man after a brief pursuit. He is being held at the Ozaukee County Jail.

Authorities have not publicly identified the man or provided details about possible charges, whether anyone was injured, or damage from the crash. The allegations have not been proven in court.
