MILWAUKEE — A 24-year-old woman reported that a man forced her into a truck near Brady Street on Sunday, then assaulted her at a Pick ’n Save parking lot on Lyon Street, according to a search warrant. She escaped from the vehicle, and Milwaukee police arrested a 23-year-old man later that day. The woman contacted police on Lyon Street and reported a sexual assault, the warrant says. She told investigators she was walking near North Warren Street when a man grabbed her by the neck and forced her into a dark truck. At the store parking lot, she said, he grabbed her again and struck her in the face, chipping a tooth. The woman told police she lost consciousness. When she awoke, some of her clothing had been removed, according to the warrant. She said she fought the man off and ran from the truck. Video from the area showed the truck entering the lot and the woman fleeing, the warrant states. A pole camera near East Brady Street and North Ogden Avenue captured the truck’s license plate, police said in the warrant. Investigators used it to identify the vehicle’s owner, whom the woman identified as the suspect. Police arrested him at about 5 p.m. Sunday. The warrant says police sought a search warrant after the man declined to provide DNA. He was being held by Milwaukee police, and no charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning, Sept. 29. The investigation was ongoing.
