A construction crew struck a 2-inch natural gas main near Minnesota Street and Tifton Drive in Franklin at about 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, prompting a brief evacuation, the Franklin Fire Department said. Pleasant View Elementary School told students and staff to shelter in place. The school lifted the order within 15 minutes and confirmed that everyone was safe. We Energies crews were at the scene working to secure the leak. No injuries were reported.
