HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — King-tide flooding covered streets near West Lake and Holland parks on Tuesday morning, including Johnson Street near the Stranahan River, where a woman paddled by kayak. Saltwater also covered the roadway at North 10th Avenue.
A coastal flood warning was in effect until 8 p.m. for coastal Miami-Dade and Broward counties and Monroe County. Officials warned that roads could close and low-lying property could be flooded; shoreline erosion was also possible.
A wind advisory for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties was set to remain in effect until 8 p.m. Northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph, were affecting coastal and metropolitan areas. The conditions also raised the risk of tree limbs falling.
The forecast called for intermittent showers moving in from the water Tuesday afternoon, followed by lighter winds and fewer showers beginning Wednesday.
