A man died Friday after a suspected alligator attack at Dr. Bradford Memorial Park in Winter Haven, where he had been fishing along the shoreline, officials said.
Authorities received a call at about 5:20 p.m. The man is believed to have been underwater for roughly an hour before his body was recovered, according to officials. His identity had not been released.
Firefighters, police and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission personnel responded and were investigating. Officials have not released further details about the circumstances of the attack.
