A man was arrested after Stoughton police investigated a stabbing reported early Saturday near Moline Street and Matthew Way, authorities said. Police responded around 12:23 a.m. Sept. 26 after 911 callers reported a disturbance and a man shouting that he had been stabbed. Officers found no active disturbance at the scene, but located blood in a nearby driveway and learned the injured person had gone to Stoughton Hospital. The victim was expected to recover and had been released from the hospital by Saturday afternoon, police said. After investigating, officers identified the suspect as Devon Dean, arrested him and took him to the Dane County Jail. Police said a search warrant was also executed at a home, where officers found a knife. Dean is facing attempted first-degree homicide and battery charges, according to the report.
