Dane County seeks 48-year-old who left Madison hospital without permission
Martin Meyers was last seen Wednesday near South Park Street after leaving a medical facility where he had been taken from the county jail. Deputies say he is serving a 30-day sentence for contempt and ask anyone who spots him to call county communications.
Dane County authorities are searching for Martin Meyers, a 48-year-old jail inmate who left a Madison hospital without permission Wednesday afternoon, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Meyers was taken to a medical facility at about 1 p.m. and was last seen around 4 p.m. near 202 S. Park St., the sheriff’s office said. He was subsequently declared absent without leave from the jail.
Meyers is serving a 30-day Huber sentence for contempt. The county did not provide further details about the contempt case or the medical visit.
Deputies described Meyers as 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing blue pants and a brown shirt and had no shoes, the sheriff’s office said.
