Raiders legends join Fred Biletnikoff at Las Vegas fundraiser for girls’ support programs

The Biletnikoff Foundation held its 26th annual Celebrity Crab Fest Gala at Allegiant Stadium on Friday, bringing Raiders alumni and other guests together to raise money for programs serving young women in Nevada.

Guests ate Dungeness crab, took photos with former players and celebrities, and bid in live and silent auctions. The event supports Tracey’s Place of Hope at Saint Jude’s Ranch for Children, along with other foundation efforts to combat abuse and human trafficking.

Foundation founder Fred Biletnikoff said the work grew out of his daughter Tracey’s experience. She struggled with addiction, became sober and hoped there would be more support for adolescent girls, he said. After her death, the family established Tracey’s Place of Hope in her name.

Biletnikoff said the program aims to give young women facing similar challenges support as they work toward stability. He said the Crab Fest format draws on the communal gatherings he remembers from his years with the Raiders in Oakland, and that seeing guests return each year is a highlight.

Former Raiders running back Marcus Allen praised Biletnikoff’s work in his daughter’s name, calling it a contribution worthy of the Hall of Fame. Tim Brown said Fred and Angela Biletnikoff had turned difficult experiences into an occasion for people to gather and support the cause. Willie Gault, who played for the Raiders while Biletnikoff coached, also praised the couple’s work.

The foundation did not announce a fundraising total for this year’s gala.
