LAS VEGAS — Antonio Patrick Barry-Edwards was sentenced Oct. 15 to two consecutive life terms for the first-degree murders of Sandra Marie Cruz-Lopez and Eric Mosely, according to court documents. He will be eligible for parole after serving 600 months, or 50 years, and the sentences include use of a deadly weapon.

Barry-Edwards pleaded guilty to both killings. Cruz-Lopez’s body was found in a burned-out car near Lake Mead Boulevard in May 2021. Police said she had been shot multiple times. Details about Mosely’s killing were not provided.

Jordan Monahan, who was also arrested in connection with Cruz-Lopez’s murder, was scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 28.

The killings are separate from a May 2021 hostage incident that brought Barry-Edwards to wider public attention. Police said he fled officers and entered a motel room near Dean Martin Drive and Blue Diamond Road, where he held a woman and a young boy for 29 hours. Both were rescued during negotiations before Barry-Edwards surrendered.
