JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A couple was injured Saturday, Oct. 10, when a car crashed through the front windows of Zinke Hair Studio at St. Johns Town Center, pinning one of them against the reception counter. Aubrie Simpson-Gotham and her husband, Steven, had just finished haircuts when the vehicle entered the salon. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment. “We had no time to react,” Aubrie said, describing how the couple heard a loud crash and turned to see the car heading toward them. The impact knocked her down and trapped Steven. He said he freed one arm and urged her to move away, fearing the driver might keep accelerating. The couple said they were sore and still processing the experience. Aubrie described the crash as traumatic for them and their family and friends. Steven said they were grateful to be alive. They said they were still waiting for answers about what caused the driver to crash into the salon. No cause was established in the information available Monday.
