Nassau County opens review of draft data center findings, schedules resident workshops

Nassau County residents can review a draft report on data center development and offer feedback as county officials consider regulations for future projects.

The initial findings were prepared by the county’s Fact-Finding Committee on Data Center Development. The report is intended to guide upcoming public discussions; the county has not announced final rules.

Two public workshops are scheduled for Oct. 26 and Nov. 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. each day, in the Board of County Commissioners’ chambers in Yulee. Residents unable to attend can review the report and meeting materials and submit comments through the county’s online portal. The comment period closes Jan. 8, 2027, at 11:59 p.m.

Formal public hearings on the report and community input are scheduled for Dec. 1 and Dec. 14, followed by Jan. 25, 2027. The county’s process gives residents an opportunity to weigh in before any potential regulations are developed.
