A man was killed in a shooting early Monday in Jacksonville’s Durkeeville neighborhood, and police detained multiple people as detectives investigated.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of West 13th Street at about 12:30 a.m. after a report of a person shot. They found the man at the scene, where he was pronounced dead, police said at a news conference Monday morning.
Police said they believe all parties involved in the shooting have been accounted for. The department did not immediately release the victim’s identity or details about what led to the shooting.
The crime scene remained active after 5:30 a.m. Detectives were waiting for a search warrant while continuing their investigation.
