Plano police are investigating a homicide after a person was found fatally shot in an alley behind a home Tuesday evening in the 900 block of Middle Cove Drive. Officers and Plano Fire-Rescue crews were sent to the area around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 after a report of a shooting. First responders found the victim with a gunshot wound, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Authorities had not publicly identified the victim as of Wednesday morning and said they were working to notify family members. Police had not announced an arrest or released information about a possible suspect. Investigators closed roads near Branch Hollow and Middle Cove Drive while they processed the scene. The roads reopened shortly after midnight Wednesday. The department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is leading the investigation.
