Maison Skalli’s Short North shop is closed; Dublin bakery remains open
The Moroccan bakery’s shop at 662 N. High St. has closed less than six months after opening, and staff at its Dublin location could not say whether it will reopen. Maison Skalli’s Dublin flagship remains open.
Maison Skalli’s Short North location at 662 N. High St. is closed, less than six months after the Moroccan bakery opened its second Columbus-area shop. A staff member at the bakery’s Dublin location confirmed the closure but said they did not know whether or when the Short North shop might reopen.
The closure had not been publicly announced as of Oct. 13. The Short North location was still listed as open online and on the bakery’s website, and Maison Skalli’s Instagram showed customers at the shop a couple of weeks earlier.
The Short North shop opened in April, taking over a storefront that had been vacant for years. Kilwins, a chocolate and ice cream shop, was the last business there before it closed in 2021.
It was Maison Skalli’s second short-lived attempt to establish a second location. After opening its Dublin flagship at 2746 Festival Lane in 2024, owner Chouaib Esskalli announced a Hilliard location that opened briefly in spring 2025 and then closed. The business later indicated on Instagram that another location would take its place; that became the Short North shop.
The Dublin bakery remains open. Its listed hours are 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
