A 36-year-old Columbus man is charged with murder in connection with a 2012 double homicide after telling detectives he shot one of the victims, according to court records. Shamieke Pugh traveled from Los Angeles to Columbus on Tuesday and approached officers to discuss a homicide, the records say. On Wednesday, he told detectives he had shot Raymundo Lopez several times with a handgun, killing him. Pugh also told detectives that a group of people he described as “known individuals” had planned to rob Lopez and Heriberto Galeana-Galvan, according to the records. Columbus police found both men with gunshot wounds in a garage in the 900 block of Lockbourne Road on the city’s South Side on Dec. 31, 2012. Both died from their injuries. Pugh was arraigned Thursday and given a $5 million bond. The charge is an allegation; the court records cited in the report do not provide further details about the case or any next court date.
