A woman identified by her son as Ruth has died after being thrown from a wagon ride at Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville over the weekend.
Her son, Eddie Quesenberry, announced her death in a Facebook post Thursday, Oct. 22, according to information released the next morning. The circumstances surrounding her death have not been detailed publicly.
Lazy 5 Ranch said earlier in the week that a tree branch fell, frightening the horses and causing them to run. Three people were thrown from the wagon, the ranch said. A previous report described two women as seriously hurt in the crash.
The ranch had not publicly provided further details about the incident. The fatal accident occurred at the Mooresville attraction, which offers visitors wagon rides through its property.
