NASCAR agent Rod Moskowitz charged after alleged Huntersville driving incident

Rod Moskowitz, a sports agent who represents several prominent NASCAR drivers, was arrested in Huntersville on Thursday after an incident involving a vehicle, according to Mecklenburg County court records and an arrest affidavit.

The affidavit alleges that Moskowitz, 52, was driving a 2023 Toyota Sequoia aggressively on Cramur Drive shortly after noon Oct. 22. A Huntersville police officer reportedly saw the vehicle enter a ditch and become stuck briefly before Moskowitz backed out and pulled into a driveway.

The document says several people, including officers, tried to get him to stop. One officer allegedly had to move out of the vehicle’s path three times to avoid being hit. Officers eventually removed Moskowitz from the vehicle and arrested him, the affidavit states.

Moskowitz was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government employee and taken to the Mecklenburg County jail. Court records show a judge set his bond at $1,000 during a court appearance Friday, Oct. 23. The charge is an allegation, and the records cited do not establish guilt.

Moskowitz is listed as chief executive of PROSPORT Management and head of its racing division. The company represents athletes in several leagues. Its NASCAR clients include Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, William Byron and Bubba Wallace.

The available records and affidavit do not include a statement from Moskowitz or his representatives.
