Motorcyclist, 21, dies after collision at Wilkinson Boulevard and West Morehead Street
Wildt Hardin died after his motorcycle struck an SUV in west Charlotte on Friday night, police said. Investigators cited speed as a contributing factor and are asking witnesses to come forward.
A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash at Wilkinson Boulevard and West Morehead Street in west Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 23, police said.
Officers said Wildt Hardin was riding at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle struck an SUV that was turning left onto West Morehead Street. The crash was reported at about 8:32 p.m.
Hardin was found in the roadway with life-threatening injuries and taken to a hospital, where he later died. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage, according to police.
Investigators said the SUV driver showed no signs of impairment and that speed contributed to the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
