Huntersville police seek 24-year-old in connection with Windy Lea Lane stabbing
A resident was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing late Tuesday at a Huntersville home near McCoy Road. Police are searching for Cassandra Risso, who they say may be in the Gilead Ridge area, and urge the public not to approach her.
Huntersville police are searching for Cassandra Risso, 24, in connection with a stabbing that left a resident with life-threatening injuries late Tuesday, Oct. 6, at a home on Windy Lea Lane near McCoy Road.
Officers responding around 11:50 p.m. found the resident stabbed and took them to a hospital, police said. Risso, who authorities say knew the victim, had left before officers arrived. The weapon was recovered at the home.
Risso is wanted on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police described her as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with blue eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants and tan boots, and carrying a backpack.
Investigators believe she may be in the Gilead Ridge area. Police say anyone who sees Risso should not approach her and should call 911 immediately.
