Influencer Braden Peters denies rape charge tied to alleged Chatham incident

CHATHAM, Mass. — Braden Peters, a 20-year-old social media influencer known as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Orleans District Court to charges arising from an alleged sexual assault in Chatham in 2025.

Peters faces one count of rape, one count of drugging someone for sexual intercourse and one count of procuring liquor for a person under 21. He was released on $10,000 bail and ordered to stay away from the accuser, not post about her on social media and turn over his passport. The judge warned that another arrest could result in his bail being revoked.

The accuser, who was 17 at the time, told police that Peters arranged an Uber to his family’s home, where they took part in a livestream event and drank alcohol. She alleges he raped her on May 23, 2025. The charges were filed Sept. 8.

Peters denies the allegations and has said the sexual encounter was consensual. In documents filed Wednesday, his attorneys said the two first connected in spring 2025 and that Peters helped her build an online following. The defense filing included text messages and a handwritten letter from the accuser expressing loyalty to Peters.

Peters arrived at court in a black suit with a dog on a leash. A court clerk identified the animal as an emotional-support dog. Peters did not answer reporters’ questions.

A probable-cause hearing is scheduled for Nov. 24. Peters, who lives in Miami and Los Angeles, has a large online following through livestreams and content about “looksmaxxing,” a practice focused on altering one’s appearance.
