Cambridge woman charged after fatal crash in Port neighborhood

A 41-year-old Cambridge woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in the city’s Port neighborhood late Thursday, after investigators alleged she drove drunk and sped away from an earlier collision before traveling the wrong way along a residential block.

Sosa Samura faces charges including vehicular homicide, operating under the influence and assault with a dangerous weapon. The crash occurred near the intersection of Market and Columbia streets, according to investigators. Police documents identify Samura as a social worker.

“Samura’s reckless operation resulted in the death of another individual,” Cambridge police wrote in the documents. The person who died was described as another motorist; further identifying information was not included in the available details.

Investigators also cited an alleged history of impaired driving. The charges are allegations, and the case will be addressed in court.
