Bengals score 35 unanswered after halftime to beat Ravens in Baltimore

BALTIMORE — The Cincinnati Bengals scored five consecutive touchdowns after halftime Sunday to beat the Baltimore Ravens 35-13 at M&T Bank Stadium, extending Baltimore’s slide with a second straight loss to an AFC North opponent.

Cincinnati had been held scoreless in the first half. The Ravens, meanwhile, took an early lead on Zay Flowers’ 64-yard screen-pass touchdown, but their offense managed only two field goals on subsequent drives and came away empty on a fourth-down attempt.

The second half was a sharp reversal. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow completed 16 of 18 passes for 250 yards and all four of his touchdown passes after the break. He finished with 292 passing yards and four touchdowns. Tee Higgins caught six passes for 148 yards, while Ja’Marr Chase had five catches for 62 yards and a late touchdown.

Baltimore’s offense failed to score after halftime and gained fewer than 100 yards in the second half, as Cincinnati’s defense pressured backup quarterback Tyler Huntley. Huntley was sacked four times and threw an interception on a tipped pass that ended the Ravens’ final chance to rally. Baltimore did not force a turnover and recorded just one sack of Burrow, in the first half.

The Ravens also struggled to run the ball. Derrick Henry finished with 45 yards on 17 carries, and the team stayed below 100 rushing yards. Baltimore has now been outscored 48-0 in the second half across its past two games.

The defeat left the Ravens in last place in the AFC North, with the other division teams winning Sunday. Baltimore’s next games are against the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars, with the schedule listing matchups Sunday and Thursday night. Lamar Jackson, who has been out with an injury, could be in line to return; his availability may be important as the Ravens try to halt the skid.
